In January 2026, the Foundation contributed £165,019 over three years towards Community Energy England’s core costs, supporting their work delivering community-led projects aimed at tackling climate change. Community energy involves local people coming together to own and manage renewable energy projects, which transforms energy from a simple commodity into a tool for social and environmental justice. Community Energy England achieve this by influencing the policy and regulatory environment to support the growth and uptake of community energy. They also build engagement by sharing funding and learning opportunities, and enable delivery across England by providing community energy organisations with resources, support and training.
